Srikalahasthi Pipes Ltd., formerly Lanco Industries, is putting up an additional coke oven battery at a cost of ₹65 crore to increase the capacity of its power plant in Chittoor district. “We already have three coke oven batteries that produce 12.5 MW of power,” said G.S. Rathi, SPL whole-time director. “With the additional coke oven battery, we can produce another 4 MW of power. With this, we will able to meet our power requirements.,” he said. SPL’s standalone net profit for the quarter ended December 31 remained flat at ₹40 crore, as the DI pipes plant remained shut for October and November 2016 for maintenance and for synchronising equipment.
The company had posted a net profit of ₹41 crore during the corresponding year-ago period. The company’s total income during the period under review was ₹291.55 crore against ₹280 crore.
